Role Summary
- To oversee and monitor daily cash transaction workflows, ensure accuracy and timeliness of cash processing, assign and track operational tasks, conduct intraday checks of critical daily activities and signing off on daily task completions. Coordinate training and issue resolution to maintain smooth, compliant, and efficient custody service.
- To approve and submit payments: processing, validating and authorising cash payments on House system and across a variety of Banking platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Workflow Monitoring & Cash Processing
- Monitor end-to-end cash transaction workflows, including deposits, withdrawals, rectifications, and SLA adherence.
- Ensure all cash-related activities are executed accurately and within defined timelines.
- Track processing queues, identify bottlenecks, and take corrective actions to prevent delays.
2. Task Assignment & Intraday Supervision
- Allocate daily operational tasks to team members based on transaction volume, skill level, and priorities.
- Conduct intraday checks to verify completion of critical cash handling activities and ensure adherence to operating procedures.
- Maintain visibility on all pending, high-value, or exception items requiring management attention.
3. Control & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with internal risk control procedures and regulatory standards related to cash transactions.
- Support periodic audits and ensure all documentation, balancing, and reporting are accurate and complete.
- Escalate discrepancies, breaches, or risk items promptly as per escalation protocols.
4. Problem Solving & Investigation
- Investigate discrepancies, variances, or unusual transactions in cash processing.
- Coordinate with internal departments (Transfers, Back office Operations, Complaints and customer service teams) to resolve issues efficiently.
- Recommend preventive actions to mitigate recurring operational risks.
5. Training & Development
- Support onboarding and training of new team members on cash processes, systems, and compliance standards.
- Identify training needs and facilitate refresher sessions to maintain process quality and accuracy.
6. Coordination & Reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cash availability, process alignment, and smooth cash movements.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on cash transaction volumes, process efficiency, exceptions, and escalations.
- Maintain transparent communication with management and stakeholders on intraday performance.
7. Planning & Control
- Establishes priorities, tasks and work schedules in advance
- Clarifies the responsibilities of self and other, avoiding duplication of activity and wasted effort
- Monitors the progress of plans and ensures that action is taken to resolve delays
- Establishes realistic timescales, with adequate contingency plans, to ensure objectives are met
- Ensures that necessary resources are available to complete business processes.

Skills & Knowledge and Qualification
- Excellent IT skills especially knowledge of Microsoft Excel

- Good communication skills (both written and oral)
- 3–5 years of experience in cash operations, banking back office, or transaction processing
- Knowledge of different payment channels; chaps, fast, bacs, etc.. preferred
- Familiarity with core banking systems and financial compliance regulations

Procedural/Product/Specialist Knowledge - Comprehensive knowledge and adequate practical experience of the relevant procedures, products and services in own areas of responsibility, including interpretation of and application of best practices. Good knowledge of products and services available through other areas and when to refer elsewhere to ensure both business and/or customer needs are met.
